A 1980 graduate of University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Business, Jim enjoyed 30 highly successful years within the tech industry that included executive leadership roles in Sales, Marketing, Operations and Product Development with companies such as NCR, AT&T, Wausau Financial and IBM.
From the beginning, Jim demonstrated a unique ability to rally diverse people to a common vision, maximizing the effectiveness of cross-functional teams. In the early 1990s, AT&T appointed Jim to the role of Customer Focused Team Director where he oversaw the launch of 25 cross-functional teams across North America. Success with this initiative opened opportunities for Jim guide executive-rank team development within NCR, AT&T, Bank of America, and Manufacturers Hanover among other leading organizations.
Possessing unique insights, broad experience, and a proven track record, Jim founded Rarefide Consulting in 2014 to coach and equip leaders who guide cross-functional, cross-cultural organizations. He is a certified John Maxwell Team Leadership Coach and travels globally, working with business, government and non-profit leaders to maximize their impact and effectiveness.
Jim and his wife, Sue, have been married 38 years, live in Kansas City, MO and have three grown daughters.
